'Rainy Day Little Bear' was inspired in part by the Little Bear books I used to read to my son, and partly by a stunning photograph by Courtney Wissig that she graciously gave me permission to use for a reference.  Up here in the Smokey Mountains it rains almost every day in summer, a temperate rain forest.  I couldn't imagine a better image than a playful and inquisitive baby black bear soaking wet from a summer rain amid a high mountain meadow of wild flowers.  The location is along the Blue Ridge Parkway right above where our cabin is located and seemed the perfect spot to imagine a baby black bear enjoying the meadow after a rain shower.
