Dante - sculpted by Sarah Minkieqicz-Breunig & produced in earthenware ceramic by Joan Berkowitz of Pour Horse Pottery, this large mini boy stands 4" tall by 4.5 inches long. A fairly rare piece due to the difficulty Joan had in producing them and high breakage.  I have custom glazed this boy for a client to a sooty dappled buckskin tobiano after a reference photo she sent to me.  He is completed using underglazes with satin clear glaze, high gloss eyes and hooves with final color pushed with overglazes.  I also made him a glossy black base so he won't be so easy to knock over and break.  All worked fired in the kiln to Orton cones 04 to 016.  Completed March 2025.  Right click on smaller images to open them larger.
